The vitamin E for added skincare benefits and a touch of white chocolate for a luxurious texture and sweet taste. These ingredients are easily accessible and ensure that your lipsticks are free from harmful chemicals.

Ratio Details

To ensure a successful lipstick-making process, following the right proportions is crucial. The oils and wax ratio may vary depending on the season. When temperatures are higher in hot weather, adjusting the balance by increasing the amount of wax helps prevent the lipstick from melting.
During summer, the recommended ratio is oils: coconut oil: wax = 9:3:4 (or oils+fat: wax = 3:1);
For other seasons, the recommended ratio is oils: coconut oil: wax = 12:4:4 (or oils+fat: wax = 4:1) is recommended.

Formulation

Here, we will make 2 standard size lipsticks

The ratio for summer use
Olive oil or grapefruit oil: 4.2g
Coconut oil: 1.8g
Beeswax: 2g
Vitamin E: 1 capsule
White chocolate: 1g
Red candy color: 0.6-1g

The ratio for other season use
Olive oil or almond oil, avocado oil: 6g
Coconut oil: 2g
Beeswax: 2g
Vitamin E: 1 capsule
White chocolate: 1g
Red candy color: 0.6-1g

A Step-by-Step Guide To Made Lipstick
  1. Wear gloves and a mask before starting to make the lipstick.
  2. Carefully measure the required amounts of white beeswax, olive oil (optional for other oils such as almond, avocado, or grapefruit), and coconut oil according to the chosen ratio, then put them into the beaker.
  3. To enhance the nourishing properties, squeeze a vitamin E capsule into the mixture; add 1-2g white chocolate for a touch of luxury.
  4. Boil water in a small clean pot, and turn off the fire. Place the beaker into the hot water, ensuring no water gets into the mixture. Stir the mixture gently using a bamboo stick or glass rod until all the ingredients melt into a smooth liquid.
  5. Now comes the exciting part – adding color to your lipstick! Gradually add your chosen liquid candy color while continuously stirring until the color blends evenly with the liquid. Feel free to adjust the color intensity to match your preferences; there are no strict proportions to follow.
  6. Once the color is evenly blended, swiftly pour the liquid into the lipstick molds before solidifying. If the mixture hardens before running, gently reheat it in the boiling water until it becomes liquid again. When pouring into the molds, it’s best to fill them to about 90% capacity initially, then fill the full blend in the mold. The mixture may shrink slightly upon cooling, allowing room for expansion.
  7. Wait until your lipsticks cool and solidify. Allow them to sit for approximately two hours, or place them in the refrigerator for around 30 minutes for a quicker result. Note that the latter method may cause tiny water droplets to form on the lipstick’s surface.
  8. it’s time to transfer your beautiful handmade lipsticks into empty tubes once fully solidified. Rotate the empty lipstick tubes to reveal the top, remove the top layer of the mold, and gently insert the tube into the solidified lipstick, which remains vertical. Twist the tube to remove the mold and ensure a clean release.

* Important Tip

Throughout the entire process, it’s essential to prioritize cleanliness and hygiene. Before starting, sterilize the beaker, a bamboo stick, a stirring rod, and lipstick molds with hot water or in a dishwasher; disinfect the empty lipstick tubes using alcohol to ensure a hygienic result.

  • Remember to wear gloves and a mask;
  • maintain a clean environment;
  • Please don’t make it in a place with pets.
